A graduate of The Estienne School of Arts and Printing Trade in Paris, (Cert. Chromatography in 1962), Michel Dubois also pursued artistic activities, notably in musical composition, poetry, variety shows and theater.
During the 1970s, a prolific creative period emerged in his life that led him to design commercial concepts and business models that ultimately gave rise to a genuine talent for strategy in the 1980s. Two qualities that proved instrumental in the success of his subsequent exclusive sales network, "Art Service Club", graphic products distributed under the ægis trademark Cartisabelle from 1981 to 1991 (250 licensees and one thousand vendors).
Having taken the precaution not to patent his invention to maintain its technical and business secrecy, it is while implementing his legal and business concept of distribution of commercial rights, called Francession, that he expanded his undertaking from 1983 to 1991 over much of Europe, as well as French-speaking Africa and Canada.
Convinced of the necessity to liberalize access to intellectual property, he had voiced his concerns on the subject as early as 1976 in a booklet entitled, “Art Service Club”. From 1988 to 1996, he published several other works addressing that issue with Messrs. Dominique Daguet and Jannick Villepoux, in which he presented his original vision on the economy, such as “Francession – Passport for the Inventor”, “From Economic Racket to Freedom of Enterprise”, “Literary Property Extended to Invention” and “USD System” (Librairie Bleue, Troyes, France). He is also the author of “An Organized Way of Implementing Invention” (1991). Driven to complete his USD System project, he then published approximately forty related booklets. In 2004, he published “At last, Intellectual Property is affordable for everyone!”, culminated by the publication of his last book entitled, “Copyright: The Key to Global Economic Growth!” in 2016.
After having participated in numerous journalistic interviews, broadcasted debates, public and televised from 1987 to 1994, he intrinsically felt that one day, he would have to leave the old continent to integrate himself, much like the settler of yore, into a younger society apt to welcome innovation. Given his French culture, he settled in the lovely province of Quebec, Canada in 1995. That is where he tested the latest of his creative products dedicated to creators from any discipline: the Omnibus Volume edited under the Intellectual Passport C.B. denomination. To expand its business development, in 1999, he founded the USD System International Editions Consortium in the United States with a group of top collaborators specialized in translations, writing, as well as experts in public relations, engineering and marketing.
This project ~ which impacts millions of people ~ has already been validated both legally and economically by authorities from any discipline, as well as by internationally renowned lawyers. Their yearning for increased social justice has been strengthened by the Court of Appeal of Lyons (France)’s decision, on May 27th, 2004, in favor of a Volume from the Intellectual Passport C.B. Omnibus, confirmed by the Court of Cassation (France’s Supreme Court) on July 4th, 2006. In order to contribute to the implementation of an economy better suited to the cultural changes of the 21st century, time now seems befitting for the fulfillment of this work, whether it relates to industry, services or arts.
